Bode Miller Wins Bronze in Downhill

Bode Miller Wins Bronze in Downhill

Bode Miller, arguably the greatest skier in American history, has broken the Olympic medal draught he's been in since 2002, when he won two Silver medals in Salt Lake City (Giant Slalom and Combined).

Miller placed third in the downhill competition which took place today. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the downhill competition was moved due to bad weather.

Didier Defago of Switzerland won the Gold with a time of 1:54:31, Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway took Silver, and Miller finished behind Svindal by just .02 of a second.

Miller's teammate Andrew Weibrecht thinks Miller could have won the downhill event if they had better luck with timing. “[...] We went early, it was very dark and bumpy. It’s kind of too bad, because if Bode had better light, I think he could have made up the .09 seconds and won the thing.”

Miller will also be competing in the super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined. We wish him good luck in getting the Gold he deserves.

Here's the star talking about his expectations for these Olympic Games.
